TERMS + CONDITIONS

Pre-Registration

  • We’d love to see you in class! To secure your spot, please pre-register online at our Richmond, Point Grey, or Kerrisdale locations at least 24-48 hours in advance.

  • Spaces are limited, so it’s first-come, first-serve.

  • Full payment is required to confirm your booking -easy as that!

Payment Terms

We want to make payments hassle free!

  • We accept all major credit cards, WeChat/Alipay, or e-transfer to admin@labartstudio.ca. (For e-transfers or WeChat/Alipay, please put the participant's name in Remarks.) We reserve the right to hold the spot pending cleared payment.

  • Prices are subject to change; the price at time of registration applies to that registration.

Multi-Class Packages + Credits

  • Pre-paid packages (e.g., camp session bundles) are valid for up to 6 months from the date of purchase, unless a different validity period is stated at the time of purchase.

  • Package credits are redeemable only against the program type purchased. Camp-session credits may be redeemed against active Camp programming, or against Pro-D Day/Statutory Holiday Workshops of equivalent format, at LAB's discretion.

  • Package credits are not automatically transferable to a different program type (e.g., Weekly Classes). To convert unused credits, a $10 administration fee applies, subject to availability - see Cancellation Policy below.

  • Unused credits remaining after the validity period has expired are forfeited, non-refundable, and non-extendable, except at LAB's discretion.

Cancellation Policies

We get that life happens! Here’s what you need to know. All sales are final except as stated below: 

  • For Weekly Classes, Workshops, and Camps:

    • There is strictly no refund or credit of any course fees paid in the event of no-shows, and/or cancellations due to personal schedule conflict or sickness. Should LAB Language Arts Base need to cancel a class due to low enrollment, all students will be notified at least 24 hours in advance, and full refunds will be issued. Please remember: when you confirm a class time, it is reserved for you/your child with a designated instructor. A late cancellation or missed class disrupts the instructor's time and lesson plans, and leaves a space that could have been filled by another student.

    • Changes for any confirmed/scheduled class or course can be made and finalized with more than 48 hours' notice, if there is availability and at LAB management's discretion.

    • There is a $10 administration fee for any class/course transfers or credit requests.

 

  • For Parties and Private Classes:

    • There is strictly no refund or credit of any course fees paid in the event of no-shows, and/or cancellations due to personal schedule conflict or sickness. Should LAB Language Arts Base need to cancel a class due to low enrollment, all students will be notified at least 24 hours in advance, and full refunds will be issued.

    • Changes for any confirmed/scheduled party date or private class event can be made and finalized with more than 48 hours' notice, if there is availability and at LAB management's discretion.

    • There is a $10 administration fee for any party/private event date transfers or credit requests.

Make-Up Class Policy

We want to help you stay on track! Here’s how it works:​

  • Make-up classes can be scheduled within a monthly course for an absence due to sickness or personal reasons, at an additional charge of $10 per class. All make-up classes are subject to LAB's schedule availability. Make-up classes cannot be accumulated and/or carried over to other monthly courses, or refunded. No refund or credit will be given in the event a suitable make-up class is not available, or if students are unable to attend the make-up class provided. To fit your schedule better, a 30-minute make-up class is available at a cost of $18.00. LAB Language Arts Base is not responsible for providing make-up classes for missed time; however, we do our best to ensure projects are completed per course.

  • There are no make-up classes available to schedule for Pro-D Day Workshops, 1-Day Workshops, and Camps.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off Policy

We’re here to keep things running smoothly!

  • For drop-off classes for kids, the studio will open 5 minutes before the class starts. Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up students on time. If your child(ren) is not picked up on time, there is a late fee. After a 5-minute grace period, there is a $10 flat rate per child for the first 5–20 minutes late. For more than 20 minutes late, we implement $1 per minute of care. It will be greatly appreciated if parents call to notify us if they will be late, with an approximate arrival time, so we can better comfort your child. If this becomes a frequent problem, LAB Language Arts Base reserves the right to dismiss a family from the program. Late fees are due regardless of inclement weather, traffic delays, or other situations that may arise.

Behaviour Policy

Students should conduct themselves in a respectful manner with both fellow students and instructors alike. Students are asked to respect the work and space of other students as well as the studio environment in general.

Any form of verbal or physical abuse toward instructors or fellow students will not be tolerated. LAB Language Arts Base reserves the right to discontinue classes for individuals involved in such behaviour, with no refunds or credits issued.

Good Hygiene

Clean hands, happy artists!

  • Hand washing and sanitizing are encouraged before and after class, and we'll give gentle reminders during longer workshops.

  • Our studios are cleaned and sanitized daily, with high-traffic areas getting extra attention.

  • If you or your child(ren) is feeling unwell or showing signs of illness, we kindly ask that you stay home to rest and recover. Let us know, and we'll help explore options for a make-up class if applicable.

Artwork & Pick-Up

We love seeing your creations come to life! Here’s what to expect:

  • Artwork left to dry can be picked up the next day.

  • For kiln-fired pieces, we’ll contact you via e-mail in 2-3 weeks when they’re ready for pick-up.

  • If there’s a kiln explosion (it happens!), you’re welcome to schedule a make-up class and recreate your piece - no refunds, though!

  • Please pick up artwork within 2 months; after that, we’ll have to say goodbye to make room for new projects. There will be no 'Make-Up Class' to redo the artwork. 

Participation Waiver at All LAB Language Arts Base Art Studios

At LAB, we're all about sparking creativity in a fun and safe environment. While we take every precaution to ensure our classes are safe, engaging, and well-supervised, it's important to acknowledge that art-making can involve some mess and the use of various tools and materials.

By enrolling your child in our programs, you agree to the following:

  • Understanding the Risks: You recognize that participation in art activities may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to the use of art materials and tools.

  • Health & Safety: You confirm that your child is in good health and capable of participating in the activities. Please inform us of any allergies or medical conditions we should be aware of.

  • Medical Emergencies: In the unlikely event of an emergency where we cannot reach you, you authorize LAB staff to seek necessary medical treatment for your child.

  • Liability Waiver: You release LAB Language Arts Base, its staff, and affiliates from any liability for injuries or damages that may occur during participation in our programs.

  • Media Release: We love capturing the creative moments in our classes! LAB may use photographs or videos of classes for promotional purposes. If you prefer your child not to be included, please let us know by emailing admin@labartstudio.ca.

  • Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
