Welcome to our Studio!
LAB Language Arts Base is an art and academic studio space concept for all ages based in Vancouver, BC. We are in Steveston Richmond, Point Grey Vancouver, and a new pop-up in Kerrisdale Vancouver!
What to expect
Our classes are crafted to inspire and nurture creativity. In each session, you'll experience a blend of structured guidance and the freedom to explore your unique artistic expression. While our classes have age ranges as an indication of where to begin, we understand that all students will have different skill levels regardless of age. We are open to suggesting specific or private classes. Our instructors are passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

We offer a variety of fun and educational kids’ programs, including:
Weekly Classes
These are our more in-depth classes focused on a specific artist and the art history each month. During each class, students will learn about the artist, their artwork, and/ or their time in art history and work on one step of the art project, and at the end of the month, they will have finished a bigger project to take home. The courses are catered to specific age groups and run every month with a different theme.
Seasonal Camps
These are 2 - 3 hour camp sessions that are designed for kids during big school breaks. You can sign up for a full day or week or have the flexibility to sign up for just one 2 or 3-hour session. The classes run from 9 am to 5:15 pm with the option of lunch supervision in between. Our next camps sessions are Spring Break and are now available to register online. Select the location closest to you and you can see the schedules!
Workshops
Like our seasonal camps, these are also 2 - 3 hour sessions with a different theme each day and activity each session. We conduct these on holidays and Pro D Days throughout the year. There is the flexibility to sign up for just one session or multiple sessions throughout the day.
Private Classes
These are classes that we can cater to your specific needs and we do more than just art! We can curate specific language tutoring, sciences, and a safe learning space for art therapy. Contact us by email or phone to learn more.
Birthday Parties
We also love hosting artsy parties and events for families, kids, and adults. We charge for a minimum of 4 guests at $220 plus taxes and the rest of the guests can be paid after the party in case any last minute changes. Please contact us to find a date/time that works for you and we can work out a theme and activity that interests you!

What to prepare
All our classes include the necessary materials, tools, and space to create! You do not need any prior art knowledge to learn with us. To make the most of your experience at our studios, we highly encourage everyone to dress in clothes they are not afraid to get messy in.
FAQ
How long are the classes?
All our classes are at least an hour long. For Camps and specific Weekly Classes, the class times can range from one to three hours, with small breaks given in between. Be sure to check our schedules before you book a class.
Do I need to have prior art experience?
No, you do not. It's always great to know if this is your first time ever at an art studio. Let our team know of any goals you have when taking our classes.
Can parents participate with their children?
We have a Weekly Class called ‘Parent + Me Painting’ for toddlers to participate with a parent/guardian. We will ask parents to drop off their child(ren) during other classes unless otherwise indicated.
