Let’s wrap up the year with colour, creativity, and a little winter magic at LAB Art Studios! In November and December, we’re diving into the vibrant world of Alma Thomas - an American artist known for her bold, mosaic-like paintings and joyful use of colour.
Students will take inspiration from Thomas’s unique style to explore seasonal themes in new and exciting ways. Think swirling leaves in fiery fall tones, sparkling snow scenes in brilliant blues, and imaginative winter characters brought to life with patterns, brushwork, and storytelling.
November: Amazing Autumn 🍁
This month, our artists will channel Alma Thomas's signature style to capture the beauty of fall. Through painting, collage, and mixed media, we’ll turn crisp leaves, golden trees, and swirling skies into bold abstract works full of movement and energy.
We’ll also explore warm colour palettes, layering techniques, and the joy of pattern-making, giving each student a chance to make something truly original, just like Alma did.
December: Snow Friends ☃️
As the weather cools, our studios will be filled with cozy creativity! December is all about snowy scenes, friendly creatures, and the magic of winter - all with a modern art twist.
Whether it’s snowmen with style, icy landscapes, or imaginative characters in cozy sweaters, we’ll use Alma Thomas’s visual rhythm and bright colours to reimagine classic winter themes.
From Parent & Me classes to Acrylics, Sculpture, Digital Drawing, and Creative Writing, there's something for every young artist this season.
By the end of the year, your child will have a portfolio packed with personality, pattern, and painterly fun, plus a deeper appreciation for Alma Thomas’s legacy of colour, community, and joy.
