Step into the world of street art this May and June at LAB Art Studios, where bold colours, hidden messages, and creative expression collide!
Young artists are invited to explore the mysterious and powerful world of Banksy - the anonymous street artist who has turned city walls into thought-provoking works of art. Through exciting hands-on projects, students will learn how graffiti goes beyond spray cans and brick walls—it tells stories, sparks conversation, and inspires creativity!
Make Art That Speaks!
This spring, our theme is all about self-expression, imagination, and art with a message. Kids will get the chance to create their own graffiti-inspired works using stencils, spray techniques, mixed media collage, and even sculptural elements. From rainbows raining down to hidden paradises, our LAB Art Studios will be buzzing with energy as we dive into the world of urban art!
What's in Store?
In our fun-filled weekly classes, students will:
🎨 Design Bold Street Murals: Using paint, stencils, and layers, kids will create their own mural-style art on canvas and paper, inspired by graffiti and street messages.
🖌 Create Graffiti-Inspired Sculptures: Think outside the wall! We’ll sculpt 3D graffiti letters, symbols, and street characters using clay and textured materials.
🧱 Tell a Story with Walls: Just like Banksy uses walls to tell stories, kids will learn how to express emotions and ideas through their artwork, whether it’s playful, powerful, or puzzling.
💥 Explore Spray Techniques: With kid-friendly tools and materials, young artists will try out safe spray effects using balloons and straws, and paint layering to create vibrant, energetic pieces.
🖼 Mixed Media + Collage Art: Using paper, textures, and bold colour, students will piece together messages that are part street art, part personal journal.
About the Artist: Who is Banksy?
No one knows for sure who Banksy really is, but that’s part of the mystery! This famous street artist is known for creating graffiti art that’s clever, funny, and sometimes even political. His art appears on walls around the world, often overnight, and always with a message. By exploring Banksy’s work, kids will see how art can be powerful, playful, and full of personality - just like them!

• Graffiti is one of the oldest forms of art—ancient cave drawings are a type of early wall art!
• Banksy’s artwork has appeared on walls in cities like London, New York, and even war zones, turning everyday places into powerful art galleries.
• Not all street art is spray paint... stencils, stickers, sculpture, and even moss or yarn can be used in urban art!
